1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened

2nd Layer:

1 cup pecan halves or chopped pecans
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup milk chocolate morsels

Steps

Take your oven and then preheat this to 350. Take the first three ingredients that are listened in this and put them into a bowl.  Use an egg beater and beat the mixture at a medium speed level until everything’s blended together. Pat all of this into a pan after you pour this into there.

Grab the pecans and then place them over the crust in an even manner

Take 2.3 cup of the butter and 1/.2 cup of the brown sugar inside a saucepan. Let this boil over a medium-high heat level, stirring this all the time. cook this for about three or so minutes, stirring this all the time. then, take this and put this over the pecan mixture in an even manner.

Bake the whole mixture at around 350 for about 15-17 minutes or until everything is bubbled and a beautiful golden brown.

Take this out of the oven, then add some chocolate morsels to the top of this. Then, let this sit for a couple of minutes until it melts a little bit.

Stir the chocolate that’s there with the knife but leave the morsels in place.

Let the bars cool on a rack at a room temperature until the chocolate is able to fully set. Then, cut this into small squares to serve this!

Tips

Can I let the chocolate morsels melt a little bit more?

You can! It will naturally melt with time too, so if you don’t feel like swirling these around, you can do that instead, and you’ll have something great to work with.

Do I have to use pecans for this?

While this recipe does call for pecans, if you can figure out how to make other nuts work with this, then that’s fine.

Alternatively, if you’ve got someone allergic to nuts, you should also be mindful of that. You can make a nut-free option with this. While it does take out the “turtle” aspects of this, it’s still something that works well, and it can be quite tasty if you’re looking to make a nice turtle mixture.

Overall though, pecans are the best option to go with these turtle bars, especially whenever possible.
