Ingredients
½ head of cabbage, chopped
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup white or yellow onion, diced
1 cup carrots, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
14 oz can basil, oregano, garlic diced tomatoes, optional
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
How to prepare
Step 1:
In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat, then add celery, onions, bell peppers, and carrots.
Step 2:
Saute this mixture until slightly tender or soft, then add the garlic, stir together and pour in chicken broth.
Step 3:
Add the tomatoes and cabbage and stir into the mixture. Allow to boil and then reduce heat. Then cook until the cabbage is tender or soft.
Step 4:
Add in the oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt and stir into the mixture then taste the broth and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 5:
Once it is well cooked, remove from the heat and serve. You can serve with any other meal of your choice
