Ingredients:
1 canister refrigerated pizza crust
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 lb. Zaycon Fresh 93 / 7 Super Lean Ground Beef
3 tablespoons Homemade Taco Seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 cup Fiesta Blend shredded cheese, divided
1 tomato, diced, plus additional for top, if desired
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cups chopped Romaine lettuce
Sour cream and taco sauce for serving, if desired
Directions:
Take a rimmed baking sheet and put some parchment on it in order to line it. While you’re at it, make sure to preheat up to 375.
Get a big skillet, and then heat olive oil on a medium heat level.
Add in the onion that’s chopped, and then cook this for about 3-5 minutes on high, until it becomes soft
Add the ground beef and start to cook this until it becomes browned, or at least cooked.
Add in the taco seasoning that’s homemade, or the one you bought from the store, and then, mix all of this together in the skillet until everything is fully incorporated.
Take the heat, reduce all of this to low, and then let it sit to simmer in the skillet for around 5-7 minutes or so, until you notice the spices become fragrant
As this is cooking, take the parchment and then move it towards the surface you plan to work on. Take that same pizza dough that you bought, place it on there and then roll this out.
Ideally, you want this to be around 10-15 inches, and then, you can make slices a few inches thick along each side, about 1.5×3 inches thick on the dough area
When the beef is finished cooking, take the beef and then place this all the way within the center
Cover the beef with about ¾ cups of cheese, and then, add the tomato that’s diced on top of this.
From the end of one of the braids, start to fold the ends of this up, and then, wrap the first couple of slices over the top of this in order to properly secure this.
Continue to wrap the rest of the slices until there are but two left
Take the braids and then, on that parchment paper, put that on the baking dish. Bake this for around twenty minutes, or until they’re nicely browned. From there, you can take these out, let them cool, and then you can enjoy them with your family as a unique, fun dinner item that you’ll enjoy quite a bit
