Total prep time: 1 hr 10 mins
Yield: 12 servings

All you need

For the dough:

3¼ cups flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 egg
¼ cup water
¾ cup milk
1/3 cup butter, softened

For the filling:

1 can Premium Strawberry Fruit Filling & Topping
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon sugar

For the frosting:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 Tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ cup half and half
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Zest of one lemon
1 teaspoon vanilla

The process

Making the dough:

Step 1: Mix milk and butter in a saucepan and heat over low-medium heat until butter melts. Remove from the heat and leave it to cool into a lukewarm temperature.
Step 2: Whisk 2¼ cups of flour, yeast, sugar and salt together in a large bowl. Then, knead with your knuckle until they’re well combined.
Step 3: Mix the egg and water together, then slowly add the milk mixture and a flour mix until dough become smooth.
Step 4: Put aside the dough for 10 minutes.

Baking the dough:

Step 1: Put the dough on a floured flat surface, roll the dough to about ¼ – ½ inch thick.
Step 2: Put the strawberry fruit filling on it, spreading evenly on top of the dough. Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, and sprinkle on top of the strawberry fruit topping.
Step 3: Roll it up into a log and seam the sides. Cut them into 12 slices, (could be more or less, depending on how thick you want your cinnamon rolls to be). Place it in a greased baking pan and cover with a damp cloth, leave it to rise for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Leave it to bake for 30 minutes, or until it is golden brown on the top, in an oven preheated to 375 degrees.

Making the glaze:

Step 1: Beat the cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar together until smooth, then add the half and half, vanilla, lemon juice and lemon zest until it is well mixed.
Step 2: Frost warm cinnamon rolls and serve.
