Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup beef broth
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
– 1 tablespoon sesame oil
– 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
– 1 cup shredded cabbage
– 8 ounces chow mein noodles, cooked
– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Preparation:
1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
2. Transfer the cooked beef to the slow cooker. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic.
3. In a bowl, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Pour this mixture over the beef in the slow cooker.
4. Stir in the frozen peas and carrots, and shredded cabbage.
5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the vegetables are tender.
6. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cooked chow mein noodles.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
