Slow Cooker Beef Tips :
Ingredients
โ 1.5 pounds beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
โ 1 tablespoon olive oil
โ 1 onion, chopped
โ 3 cloves garlic, minced
โ 1 cup beef broth
โ 1/4 cup soy sauce
โ 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
โ 1 tablespoon tomato paste
โ 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
โ 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
โ 1 teaspoon dried thyme
โ 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
โ 1/2 teaspoon salt
โ 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
โ 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
1. Brown Beef (Optional): In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef pieces and cook until browned on all sides. Transfer to the slow cooker.
2. Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Transfer to the slow cooker.
3. Add Ingredients: Pour the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste into the slow cooker. Stir to combine. Add the dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper.
4. Add Mushrooms (Optional): If using, add the sliced mushrooms to the slow cooker.
5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender.
6. Thicken Sauce (Optional): If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with water to make a slurry and stir it into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving.
7. Serve: Serve the beef tips over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles. Enjoy!
