Shrimp Cocktail :
Ingredients
โ 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
โ 1 lemon, cut into wedges
โ 1 bay leaf
โ 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
โ 1 cup ketchup
โ 2 tablespoons horseradish (more or less to taste)
โ 1 tablespoon lemon juice
โ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
โ Salt to taste
Preparation
1. Prepare Shrimp: Fill a large pot with water and add lemon wedges, bay leaf, and Old Bay seasoning if using. Bring the water to a boil.
2. Cook Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let cool.
3. Prepare Cocktail Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Adjust the horseradish to taste for your preferred level of spiciness.
4. Serve: Arrange the cooled shrimp on a serving platter and serve with the cocktail sauce and extra lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy!
