Seafood mac and cheese is a delicious recipe that is quick and easy to make. This recipe is made with shrimp and crab meat, but you can use any seafood of your choice.
Ingredients
2 cups of dry Macaroni
6 oz. of Claw Crab Meat
8 oz. of Shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 oz. Sour Cream
4 Tablespoons of Butter
2 Tablespoons of Flour
1 Spring Onion
1 can of Evaporated Milk
8 oz. of block Sharp White Cheddar Cheese
4 oz. of block Mozzarella Cheese
¼ cup of Panko Bread Crumbs
Salt, Black Pepper, to taste
The process
Step 1: Peel and de-vein the shrimp.
Step 2: Cook the macaroni according to the directions on the package and drain it well.
Step 3: Pour the drained macaroni in a large mixing bowl. Add the ingredients; sour cream and crab, stir well until the macaroni is coated.
Step 4: Chop the green onion in a separate bowl, grate the white cheddar cheese in a separate bowl, grate the mozzarella cheese in a separate bowl and set aside.
Step 5: Melt the butter in a skillet, and then add the shrimp. Turn gently until the shrimp is lightly done.
Step 6: Remove the shrimp and leave it to cool for a few minutes. Chop slightly afterward and add it to the macaroni mixture.
Step 7: Add the chopped onions to the skillet and saute it until it becomes soft. Sprinkle flour over onions and mix them well. Leave it to cook until it turns slightly brown.
Step 8: Add the milk slowly, stir it until the whole mixture gets thickened. Add the grated Cheddar Cheese to the mixture gradually, stir constantly until the cheese melts completely.
Step 9: Pour the cheese mixture on the macaroni and seafood mixture. Stir well until they are even. Add salt and pepper to it.
Step 10: Place the mixture in a baking dish, sprinkle it with the grated mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs and paprika in that order. Leave it to bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until it is slightly brown on top, or leave for 20-25 minutes. Remove and serve warm.
