This Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Ball with Chocolate Chips is incredibly simple to make. This dessert version of a cheese ball with peanut butter candy is sure to be a big hit at any occasion or party!

Do you like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups? They are one of my all-time favorite candies. Around Halloween, they are always the first to vanish in our house. Thankfully, there’s now a smooth, creamy, delicious Reese’s spread that I used to make the perfect holiday appetizer – a Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Ball topped with Chocolate Chips.

The whole thing is a delicious appetizer idea that you can serve between dinner and dessert or as a nice little afternoon snack for you and your family to enjoy with a hot cup of cocoa.

There will be no more squandering of leftover Halloween candy! Consider making a Reese’s Pieces dessert version of the classic cheese ball dip with a peanut butter twist – ideal for parties or any occasion. It’s super simple to make, but it looks so fancy and makes such a yummy treat!

The peanut butter chocolate combo is irresistible and can be made all year. It’s a clever way to use up leftover Halloween candy. I’m sure you have some lingering pieces around your house that are just waiting to be transformed into a show-stopping dessert.

The cream cheese peanut butter ball itself is so easy and quick to make and does not require so many ingredients. It’s the perfect treat for any time!

Prep time: 15 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

8 oz. cream cheese

1 cup powdered sugar

¾ cup Reese’s spreads

3 tbs. brown sugar

1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1:

Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, Reese’s spread, and brown sugar together in a bowl using a mixer.

Step 2:

Place the mixture on top of a piece of wax paper and pull all ends of the paper into the middle to create a ball out of the mixture. Place the ball of cheese into a Ziploc bag and place in the freezer for 2 hours.

Step 3:

Pull out of the freezer and remove the cheese ball from the bag and wax paper. Gently form the ball into a round circle and once you have desired shape spread the mini chocolate chips across a plate.

Step 4:

Roll your ball over the chocolate chips coating all sides. Gently push chocolate chips in until all sides are covered.

Step 5:

Place chocolate chip-covered ball back in the fridge to firm up.

Step 6:

Take out and serve with apples, Nilla wafers, graham crackers or more for an appetizer cheese spread!

Variations

Rather than coating the balls in chocolate chips, you could use Reese’s pieces candy or even M&M candy to get the same delicious result, but with a very colorful outlook.

Tips

This is a great dessert to prep ahead of time. Make the peanut butter ball a day ahead of time and keep it wrapped in the fridge, then simply coat in the chocolate chips before setting it out to serve.
