How to Prepare:

Step 1:

Add graham crackers, pecans, brown sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir well unti the contents are well mixed.

Step 2:

Add bourbon (or brandy), maple syrup and vanilla to the mix from step 1 and resume stirring until all the contents mix well

Step 3:

Using your hands, form small balls from the mixture and then place the balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 4:

Place the cookie sheet with contents in a freezer and leave to chill for about 2 hours. Take it out afterwards

Step 5:

Place the chocolate inside a microwave until it melts completely under medium heat

Step 6:

Dip each ball in the melted chocolate and then place each chocolate engulfed ball on another cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. If you like, sprinkle a little salt over the balls for extra flavor

Step 7:

Place the chocolate-dipped balls in the freezer and allow it to chill for about an hour. Take them out of the freezer about 15 minutes before serving

Variations:

The alcohol gives a great kick, but isn’t suitable for kids. Besides, some people don’t like the taste of alcohol. In this case, you could use almond extract or rum non-alcohol flavoring to make a non-alcoholic version of this recipe.

Vanilla wafers or Oreos could be sued to substitute the graham crackers
