Smoked sausage and potatoes roasted in the oven is definitely one of my best recipes. Sheet pan dinners are one of my favorite, and this smoked sausage and potato is particularly amazing. It’s simple to make and insanely delicious! Best of all, there’ s not much cleaning left to be done afterwards since everything prepares without much mess.

This fantastic sheet pan sausage and potatoes dinner has everything you’ll need for a terrific meal. Sausage rounds with a smoky flavor and a golden brown rim. Onions that have been lightly caramelized, golden brown potato cubes that are crisp on the surface, and meltingly delicate on the inside.. It’s got everything! Oh, and if you really want to go all out, you can add some cheese, chopped peppers or other veggies to make it more interesting. This meal is perfection!

It’s a great meal to toss in the oven on those times when you don’t feel like cooking anything fancy. Perfect for times when you’ve been running around all day dealing with one or more issues, and I can tell you this… Nobody has ever turned their nose up at this one. Unless they are vegetarians, of course, but even then, it’ll be madly tempting for them. It’s simply fantastic!

Ingredients

1 lb. of smoked turkey sausage, cut into rounds

1 large onion, peeled and chopped

3 medium potatoes russet

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon fine sea salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

How to Prepare

Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 400 degree Fahrenheit and line the baking sheet with tin foil, also spray with cooking spray, then set aside.

Step 2:    

Cut the sausage into rounds, chop the onions and potatoes in an even size and add the sausage rounds, onions, and potatoes into a large bowl. Sprinkle a tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then toss with your hands until they are evenly distributed.

Step 3:

In a sheet pan, pour the mixture into it and spread out the sausage and potatoes. Place it into the heated oven and allow to roast for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the potatoes are golden brown and soft, while stirring every 15 minutes.

Step 4: 

Remove from the heat and serve.
