Nutella Swirled Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 over-ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3/4 cup Nutella

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars:
    • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add Eggs and Bananas:
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas until well combined.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Prepare Nutella Swirl:
    • Microwave the Nutella for about 20 seconds to soften it. Transfer 1 cup of the banana bread batter to a separate bowl and stir in the Nutella until well mixed.
  7. Layer and Swirl Batter:
    • Spoon half of the plain banana batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add spoonfuls of the Nutella batter on top, then spoon the remaining plain batter over it. Use a knife to gently swirl the batters together.
  8. Bake:
    • Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil.
  9. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
