Long John Silver’s Inspired Crispy Batter 

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1 egg
1 cup cold water
Fish fillets or
shrimp
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup of all-purpose flour

- Beat 1 egg
in a separate bowl, then add it to the dry ingredients.
- Gradually add 1 cup of cold water
to the mixture, stirring until smooth.
- In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- Heat the Oil:
- Heat vegetable oil
in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C)

- Dip them into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated

- Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side for fish fillets and 2-3 minutes per side for shrimp

- Drain and Serve:
- Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain any excess oil
