Ingredients :
cooking spray
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury(R) Recipe Creations(R)), divided
2 lemons, zested and juiced, divided
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons white sugar
Steps
Preheat the oven you have to 350 degrees. Get a baking dish and line it with some foil, and then spray this with a cooking spray or grease.
Press your crescent dough into the bottom portion of the baking dish that’s prepared, and then stretch this all the way out so it’s around the edges
Mix about 1 1.2 of the lemons and the zest with the juice from a couple of lemons directly into the bowl itself. Take the cream cheese and about half a cup of the sugar into the lemon mixture. Continue to add until it’s all combined.
Mix this with a mixer that’s electric until everything’s creamy and smooth, without chunks. Take it and put this over the dough portion of this.
Get your second can of the dough, take it out, and then roll this over, stretching all of this to the edges. Put melted butter over the layer of dough.
Mix a bit of the lemon zest with about 3 tablespoons of the sugar together, and then sprinkle the zesty sugary mixture over the buttery part.
Go and put it in the oven, put it in there, and then let it sit in there for about 30 minutes, until everything seems to be cooked, and there is a golden brown top. Take it out, let it sit for about 20 minutes.
Take the dessert off of your baking dish with the foil for easier access, and then place it on a cutting board or surface where you can cut this
Cut the entire mixture into small squares, but don’t take this off of the foil.
Put this back into the baking dish and then put this in the fridge for at least an hour, or until it’s all fully chilled
Tips
Should I leave this in there for a long period of time?
Ideally, you want to have it about an hour, but you can do about two or so hours with this. I don’t suggest that you keep it in there for too long, because it can freeze them, and then they become hard, ruining the dessert, so be mindful of the time.
