INGREDIENTS
1-2 store-bought angel food cakes, or homemade
1 (3.4 oz.) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling, divided
1 (8 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Almond slivers, garnish, as needed (toasted, optional)
Steps
Take the angel food cake that you have, and then cube all of it into small, bite-sized pieces that are there.
Get a big bowl, whisk together the pudding along with the cold milk, and then fold the yogurt into this, until everything’s smoothed out and fully combined.
Spread about half the cake cubes into a small, even layer of a baking pan, and then, add about 2/3 of the cheery pie filling over the top of this.
Add the rest of the cubes, and form there, add the pudding mixture on top of the cake, and from there, spread this slowly but surely into a layer that’s nice and even, creating the perfect texture for something like this that you won’t be able to get enough of, and something that really shines in this realm.
Grab a spatula or something that’ll help spread the whipped topping on top of the layer of pudding, making sure it’s fully coated and even.
Take the rest of the cheery pie filling and place this over the top of your pudding, and then add the slivered almonds, sprinkling all of this over the top in an even manner.
Take the baking dish and put it in the fridge. Let it sit in there for at least three hours or ideally overnight, depending on the needs that you have
Tips
How long can I leave this in the fridge?
Minimally, it needs about three hours for it to fully set, but you can leave this overnight.
However, once you’re done with the cake, you can throw this in the fridge and then take it out to serve it.
Can I leave this in the freezer?
If you don’t think you’ll be eating it right away, you can put this in the freezer, however, if you do plan to eat it, it will be hard, so make sure that you do leave it in the fridge to thaw for a little bit before you take it out, in order to get the best results possible from that, and stuff that you’ll be able to enjoy from this amazing cake.
