Creamy grape salad is an awesome dessert recipe, made with bright green grapes and red grapes, and frosted with smooth sour cream and topped with crunchy pecans to yield a sweet and sour combination. An awesome treat for adults and kids alike.

If you know me well, then you will know that I am obsessed with fruits. I could probably live the rest of my life eating just fruit – In fact, most of my recipes are fruit-based. Apples, strawberries, pineapples and grapes are some of my best fruits. Not only are these really healthy, but they can also be made into almost anything and give you a really delicious taste.

This grape salad recipe is just one on my long list of salad recipes. And I must say, it is one of the very best – an instant hit with anyone I prepare it for. Once it’s grapes season, this recipe is always the first thing on my mind. It’s great for weekend BBQs or potlucks. It’s also great as a side dish, or can be made for small parties like baby showers. As I said, it’s always a hit wherever it’s called upon.

There’s a lot to love with this recipe. There’s the fact that it is one of the healthiest recipes you could ever make, there’s the fact that it is one of the easiest deserts to make – in less than 10 minutes, you have this prepared and ready to throw down, then there’s the awesome combination of flavors and the the sweet, creamy smooth crunchy texture with every bite. This salad is truly one for the ages.

Another good thing with this salad is that it looks as good as it tastes.  Just imagine big, juicy crisp grapes surrounded by a creamy goodness, then the top is sprinkled with brown sugar and chopped pecans for the perfect finishing touch. This one will get you salivating even before getting a bite.

Prep Time: 5 mins

Total: 5 minutes

Yield: 8 servings

What you need

4 lbs green seedless grapes

4 lbs red seedless grapes

2 cups pecans

16 oz. sour cream

16 oz.whole fat cream cheese

1 cup brown sugar

Vanilla extract

Preparation :

Step 1:

Beat together the cream cheese and sour cream in a large mixing bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency. Then add sugar and vanilla and keep beating until blended.

Step 2:

Add grapes to the cream cheese mix and toss to coat.

Step 3:

Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

Step 4:

Top with brown sugar and pecans just before serving.

Tips

Grapes taste best when chilled. So make a day before serving and store in the refrigerator until it is time to serve. Making a day ahead will also allow the grapes to soften.

Esure to add the pecans and brown sugar just before serving and never before refrigerating. You want to get that crunchy feel.

If you’re also making this for toddlers, you can slice the grapes in half to prevent a choking hazard. Also, be careful of nut allergies from the pecans.

Make sure your cream cheese is softened, preferably at room temperature, unless your mixture will be lumpy.

You can lighten the recipe by using greek yogurt or light cream cheese in place of the sour cream and whole fat cream cheese.
