How to Prepare

Step 1:

In a large bowl, mix together the flour and season salt then coat the meat in the mixture.

Step 2:

In a skillet, heat the oil, add in the meat, minced garlic, bell peppers (cut into strips) and cook until the meat starts to brown.

Step 3:

Remove the meat and peppers from the skillet to a lined slow cooker leaving the grease behind.

Step 4:

In the skillet where the meat was cooked, add the stewed tomatoes with juice, and 1 can of beef broth to the oil.

Step 5:

Add the flour gradually while stirring until you make a gravy then pour it over the meat in the slow cooker.

Step 6:

Cook covered on low setting for 8 hours.

Step 7:

Serve with rice or any of your favorite sides.

Tips

If you’d like your sauce even thicker, leave your slow cooker uncovered on high setting for about 20 minutes towards the end of the cooking to give the sauce additional time to reduce

Alternatively, you can incorporate cornstarch into the sauce towards the end to get a thicker sauce.

If you have any leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
