Ingredients

2 pounds sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast sliced thin

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 Tablespoon sesame oil

3 garlic cloves minced

4 Tablespoons cornstarch

4 Tablespoons water

1 bag (12 ounces) frozen broccoli florets

cooked white rice to serve with (if desired)

Steps

Get your slow cooker together. From there, whisk the soy sauce, the beef broth, the sesame oil, the brown sugar, and then the garlic

Add the beef in there, sliced up, and then toss it in order to coat it

Add the lid to the top of it, and then turn the crock pot onto low. Cook this on low for about five hours, six if you want it to be really tender.

Test and adjust the seasonings before you serve it!

Tips

How long do I have to leave this in the slow cooker?

This is your choice. There are some people who like to have a beef that’s a little less tender and more chewy.  This means you can leave it in there for a little less than five.

If you leave it for more than five it will not make it worse, but this is the ideal cook time.

Can I save leftovers?

Yes you can. The beauty of this, is that you can include leftovers and it will do nicely since it’s something that can easily be reheated.

To use this as leftovers, you should turn on the crock pot to low for about a half hour to an hour and see how warm it gets. You may need to heat it up a little bit more if you need to.

Overall though, this does well as leftovers, provided that you don’t leave it sitting for too long, as it can affect how hard the broccoli is, and the texture of the beef.

The beauty of this dish is how versatile and how simple it is for people to enjoy.
