Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. Sirloin steak
1 1/2 cups soy sauce, low sodium
1 cup water
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. sesame oil
1 Tbsp. ginger, fresh, minced
1 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. white sesame seeds
2 Tbsp. corn starch + 1/4 cup water (optional: if you want a thicker sauce)

Steps

First, you must make the sauce. Get a bowl that’s medium-sized, and from there take a whisk and put together the sesame oil, the minced and crushed garlic, and of course, the ginger, soy sauce, your water, your brown sugar, the pepper, honey, and the sesame seeds. This usually makes about three cups of sauce.

From there, cut up your sirloin so that it’s into tiny pieces. From there, put the sirloin in there, along with the sauce over the top of this. Mix this together in order to combine the sauce perfectly.

Put the lid over the mixture, and then, turn it on. You want to cook this for about 203 hours on low, or until the steak reaches a temperature internally of 165 degrees.

The sauce will definitely be a bit thin, but if you want to thicken this up, put the sauce into a saucepan, let it simmer, and then, add in two tablespoons of cornstarch and a 1.4 cup water until it starts to thicken up as a sauce.

From here, garnish the top of this with some onions and sesame seeds on the plate, making sure that everything’s properly mixed together.

This works well as a dish that you can have on your own for dinner, or if you want, you can add some rice and veggies to this one if you’d like to make it something that tastes great.

You can also cook the chicken a little bit longer if you’re interested in keeping the chicken nice and tender, and if you prefer to have a fork-tender option.

You can make steamed veggies such as asparagus and broccoli, and then mix this with the strips in order to create a really good stir-fry sort of dish that will surely make your taste buds sing!
