Ridiculously easy to make, but yet impressively delicious, this luxurious, moist and tender cake-shaped brownie is made from scratch using real chocolates. It boasts a chewy chocolatey interior and a crackly crust.

Did someone say brownie cake?! There are not many recipes that can boast of being super delectable and yet incredibly easy to make. This recipe is one that I make for big occasions and even when I just want to have a treat at home.

This recipe is super easy to make, coming together in just a few minutes, and the final product feels like a piece of heaven in your mouth. Oh! And it comes with a sour-sweet chocolate ganache that just completes its delightfulness.

The chocolate brownie cake is made with chocolate brownie batter that is baked until the exterior becomes crackly. The interior is super fudgy and tastes like warm chocolates, while the crust is reminiscent of meringue – you will feel like you’re eating a brownie, only better!

Although the chocolate brownie batter is its major ingredient, what makes this cake set are the whipped eggs used in this recipe. They help create the characteristic crispy crust that shells the soft interior, but not only that, they also bulk up the cake and give it height.

When making this recipe, follow only the ingredients here and ignore whatever is written on the box mix. This is one recipe I’ll be making this weekend, I hope you’ll be making it too!

Tips and Variations

  • You can stuff your brownie cake with chocolate chips, crunchy walnuts or pecans to give you a crunchy feel.
  • The semi-sweet chocolate ganache perfectly compliments this cake. However, if you don’t want it, you can substitute it with milk chocolate or just eat the cake without the ganache
  • Try sifting the box mixes before adding to the bowl to prevent having lumps
  • If you make so much ganache, you can easily refrigerate the rest and use for other cakes later
