Cherry Pie Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Make the Dough:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Layer the Dough and Filling:
- Spread 2/3 of the dough into the prepared baking pan. Spread the cherry pie filling over the dough. Drop the remaining dough by spoonfuls over the filling.
- Bake:
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Let cool completely in the pan.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Glaze the Bars:
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars. Let the glaze set before cutting into squares.
