It’s a cheesesteak. It’s an eggroll. It’s both!

This unique recipe combines two great things: eggrolls and cheesesteak. They taste just like a cheesesteak, and it’s rolled up in a unique eggroll for ease of carrying and consumption. It’s something that’s perfect for an on-the-go meal, and also is great for anyone looking to have something quick on hand for them to consume.

ingredients :
°1 pound minced meat
°1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
°Half a tsp salt
°Half teaspoon ground black pepper
°2 tablespoons butter
°1 yellow onion chopped
°½ chopped green pepper
°24 egg rolls
°12 slices of American cheese
°cup vegetable oil for frying

Steps

  1. Get a frying pan and heat it up on medium heat levels. Cook your beef until it’s browned and looks about pea sized. Make sure you don’t trim a bunch of this. It should take about 5-7 minutes. Put the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and then stir all of this so that it gently mixes, and then remove all of this altogether from your skillet.
  2. Put the butter in this, and then add in the peppers and onions until this becomes browned too, about 5-7 minutes as well. Put the beef back in there, stirring all of this together so that it combines. Let this filling cool down to handle. In the meanwhile let’s prepare the wrappers, the egg rolls.
  3. Get the egg roll wrappers, put them on a surface that’s flat. Take half a slice of American cheese, put it into each of the rolls. Follow it with three tablespoons of your filling over the cheese, and then, close up the egg roll. Make sure that the lower lefthand portion of the eggroll is not filled with anything, since you need to fold this over, and then wet the sides of this with a bit of water as you continue to ensure that it’s properly put together. Get this tightly rolled together.
  4. Heat up about an inch or so of some oil inside a pan using some medium to high heat. Put the egg rolls in there, usually a few at once, and then, fry this for about 4 minutes until this browns. Take care and do this with the rest of the eggrolls.
  5. Let these cool to handle, and then serve! You can use food paper to help with holding these better if you struggle to do so.

Tips

Can I add extra ingredients to this?

You can add some, but unless it’s part of a cheesesteak recipe, it may taste a bit strange. Remember, you’ve got the flavorings of both the eggrolls and the cheesesteak, so it’s a good way to put it together.

What’s the best way to store these?

You should store these in the fridge if you’re leaving them as leftovers. Heat them up a little bit before you consume. Because there’s meat in it, you can’t leave it out. An airtight container helps with proper storage of this.

Can I freeze them?

You sure can! Freezing is a great way to make these stick around for a bit, you might just have to heat these up before consuming them, so either use the microwave, or your stovetop by lightly heating them in a skillet.
