Barge pie is an amazing and delicious recipe. You’ll adore this stacked peanut buttercream and chocolate dessert if you like peanut butter cups!

This pie comes in three distinct layers. However, one layer is pure whipped topping, and another is instant pudding. So the cream cheese layer is the only one that requires any work at all. Preparing this is as easy as ABC! Just toss the ingredients in a bowl and mix with an electric mixer.

For this recipe I used honey roasted chunky peanut butter instead of creamy peanut butter because my friend’s recipe called for it. It’s entirely up to you and what you have. Graham cracker crumbs were called for in the original recipe.

I used peanut butter sandwich cookie crumbs since I wanted a stronger peanut flavor. This is a fantastic option! It was delicious. This should be one of your bucket list recipes and I can guarantee you won’t regret trying it out!

Ingredients

For the Crust:

1 ½ cups peanut butter sandwich cookie crumbs
4 tbsp. unsalted butter melted
2 tbsp. sugar

For the first Layer:

8 oz cream cheese softened
½ cup scant confectioners sugar
½ cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups whipped topping
For the second Layer:
1 pkg 4-serving size instant chocolate pudding mix
1 ¾ cups milk

For the third layer:

1-2 cups whipped topping
¼ cup toffee pieces chopped peanuts cups, optional

How to prepare

Step 1:Using nonstick spray, coat the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan. Combine all of the crust ingredients and press firmly into the prepared pan’s bottom.

Step 2:In a medium mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients for the first layer and beat well to blend. Cover the crumbs in the pan with the mixture for 1-2 minutes, whisk together the milk and pudding mix in a large mixing dish.

Step 3:Pour over the cream cheese layer and smooth it out evenly. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before topping with whipped topping, and allow at least 2 hours for chilling.

Step 4:Toppings can be sprinkled on top, optional. Caramel sauce and/or chocolate syrup are optional additions.
