Apple Pie Bites :
Ingredients
โ 1 package (14.1 oz) refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
โ 2 cups peeled and diced apples (such as Granny Smith)
โ 1/4 cup granulated sugar
โ 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
โ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
โ 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
โ 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
โ 1 tablespoon lemon juice
โ 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
โ 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Preparation
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.
3. Roll Out Pie Crust: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie crusts. Use a round cookie cutter (about 2 inches in diameter) to cut out circles of dough.
4. Assemble Bites: Place a small spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
5. Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the apple pie bites with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
6. Bake: Place the apple pie bites on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
7. Cool and Serve: Allow the apple pie bites to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
