Ingredients
1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
1 cup fresh blueberries
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and lemon zest (if using) until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Rolls:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture over each triangle.
Place a few blueberries at the wide end of each triangle and gently roll up the dough, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point.
Bake:
Place the assembled rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
Serve:
Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best flavor.
Tips
Blueberries: Fresh blueberries work best, but you can use frozen blueberries (thawed and drained) if fresh are not available.
Extra Sweetness: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for added sweetness.
Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing and spreading.
