Ingredients:
- For 4 people
- Preparation Time: 15 minutes – Cooking Time: 10 minutes
- 120 grams of butter
- 450 grams of flour
- 4 pinches of sugar
- 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
- 2 pinches of salt
- 50 cl of water
- 4 eggs
- Frying oil
- Sugar for dusting
Preparation:
- Start by boiling 50cl of water in a small saucepan with 120 grams of butter cut into small pieces. Add salt and sugar.
- Once the mixture has melted well, add the flour all at once.
- Mix the preparation well and remove it from the heat. Then pour it into a container.
- Add the first egg. Mix so that the egg can be well incorporated.
- Add the second egg, then mix, and so on. The dough should be sticky. If not, feel free to add a little water.
- Once all the eggs are incorporated, let the dough rest for 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, preheat your deep fryer to 180°C. You can also cook your homemade churros in a large pot of frying oil.
- Pour the dough into the pastry bag with a star-shaped tip. Shape the churros into long strips of about 10 to 15cm and let them fall directly into the hot oil.
- Fry them for 3 minutes, until they are golden brown.
- Then remove them with a slotted spoon and drain the churros on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Finally, sprinkle with sugar and serve warm. You can also dip them in caramel or chocolate sauce for extra indulgence (I recommend hot fudge).
