1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the batter into an ungreased 8×8 inch baking dish.
Add the Topping:
Sprinkle the brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
Add Hot Water:
Pour the hot water over the entire mixture. Do not stir.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is cracked.
