Ingredients
1 c granulated sugar
1 stick butter, unsalted
1 c milk
1 c self-rising flour
1 can pie filling (apple, cherry, or peach) or fresh fruit (21 oz)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Take some butter and melt it into a baking dish. Make sure to do this as the oven starts to preheat for you to get the best pie possible.
Take your flour, milk, and the vanilla, throw this into a mixing bowl, and then mix it together until everything properly incorporated.
Put it into that same baking dish, but don’t mix the butter in there with that. Let it sit and fill in the gaps, naturally coming together
Take the apples, or whatever fruit you’ve decided to throw in there, and then spoon it in randomly into different locations within the pie pan.
Bake this for about 45 minutes, or until the crust starts to rise and crack a little bit
The cool thing about this recipe, is that it doesn’t require more than a few ingredients.
Tips
Probably one of the downsides to cobbler, is that you have to make the curst in order to get it started. But with this recipe, you can use canned filling and flour that rises on its own, and that’s a nice little benefit, since you don’t have to spend time working on it. Plus, these are ingredients that normally come out from your pantry. Chances are, you’ve got this.
Where does the pie filling go?
for the best results with this, you want to put the pie filling over the crust, so that it does bake around the rest of this, offering a beautiful, golden brown color to the crust.
What are the other fruits that I can use with this?
This is a recipe that is great because it allows you to use whatever fruit you want. There are some people who like to use apple, and apple only, but there are others that love to use blueberry, and cherry to make a delicious pie crust that you can enjoy.
You can also add more filling to the cobbler too if you like to have a little more fruit in there. this goes well with desserts of choice too! There are tons of great desserts to use this too and enjoy.
