INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

4 teaspoons vanilla extract

CHOCOLATE FROSTING

1/4 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup milk ( I use 2%)

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 cups powdered sugar

Steps

Preheat your oven to 350. Get a baking dish and then line it with some foil, and then spray this with some spray that’s nonstick. You can then set it aside.

Get an electric mixer or bowl, then add the cocoa powder and the melted butter. With the attachment, you can then blend this until everything’s smoothed out completely.

Put the flour and the sugar together, and then beat that, adding the vanilla and the eggs, mixing all of this until it fully combines. Don’t try to overmix this, since the batter will be very thick.

Take the batter once it’s nice and mixed and et your baking dish, and put that into there, spreading it out in a nice, evened manner. Bake this for up to 30 minutes or until you put a toothpick into there, and when you pull it out from the center area it’s clean.

When you find this, remove this, and then, let this sit on a cooling rack for around 15 minutes. Then, you can get onto the best step of this: the frosting step.

Make sure the brownies are warm before you frost.

To make the chocolate frosting, you want to take all of the frosting ingredients and then put it into a bowl. Grab your beater and then beat this until the mixture has a smooth, almost whipped texture to this.

Get your brownies—still warm, and then pour this, spreading it over each of them.

Let this sit down and cool totally before you use a knife to cut into this, serving it instantly

You can add nuts and other ingredients if you’re a fan of that, but because they are supposed to be similar to the lunch brownies, you might want to forgo it. However, here is a great recipe that helps you get the same feeling that those brownies the nice lunch ladies would give to you, right in a homemade brownie form! Definitely worth trying if you have a brownie craving, and want to also get that little bit of nostalgia with it as well.
