Chicken thighs are a great dinner treat, and they’re something that you can make in your slow cooker, properly tenderizing the chicken to what you want it to be. This is one that’s special, and is super easy. It’s also something that you don’t have to sit and watch, because it’s in the slow cooker.
You can set this up before you go to work and have something wonderful to go home to. If you want a new taste to chicken thighs, then you’ve come to the right place with this amazing recipe.
The recipe is pretty easy too, and you can add some other ingredients if you feel that this would make it taste more magical.
Ingredients:
4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup ketchup
⅓ cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried basil
Steps
- First, get your slow cooker and prepare it by starting to heat it up, and also coating this with some cooking spray to make sure everything is able to be moved
- Take the chicken thighs, and after you’ve washed them, put them at the bottom portion of your slow cooker
- Get a mixing bowl, put the garlic, ketchup, basil, honey, and soy sauce together, properly mixing everything until it neatly combines
- Take this and put it over your chicken thighs mixture
- Seal up your slow cooker with the lid, keeping the heat on low, and then cook it for at least six hours. You can cook it for longer if you want, but try to take it out after 10 or so hours.
- Remove, take the chickens out and put this on a plate, and then serve this with some mixed veggies and rice. For an even more powerful burst of flavor, take the rest of what’s left in the slow cooker and drizzle this over the thighs to give it a luscious, amazing taste that will have you begging for so much more!
Tips
Can I increase the honey in this?
You can if you don’t like too much of a garlic taste. Just increase the amount of honey, although the garlic in this is much more subtle than you’d think.
Can I reserve the liquid?
You can! This is a great way to hold onto the liquid if you think it’ll make this taste even better, since it’s a good way to ensure that everything’s properly mixed together.
What happens if I take it out sooner?
You can take it out usually after about five hours, but if you like chicken that’s nice and tender, keep it in for the full six. You can also do this on high as well, but it does impact the tenderness of the chicken, so bear that in mind when you’re taking it out after a certain point.
Can it be reheated?
It can be reheated. You can even do it in the slow cooker by setting it in on low heat for about 45 minutes before you serve this once again, and is great if you’ve made this ahead of time but want it as leftovers.
