What you need

3 lbs. of beef round steak
1⁄2 cup of flour
2 teaspoons of salt
1⁄8 teaspoon of pepper
1⁄2 teaspoon of dry mustard
2 medium thinly sliced onions, separated into rings
2 (4 ounce) cans sliced and drained mushrooms
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed beef broth
1⁄4 cup of dry white wine
1 1⁄2 cups sour cream
1⁄4 cup flour

The process

Step 1: Cut all the excess fat from steak and cut the meat into 3 inch strips, about ½ inch wide.

Step 2: Mix ½ cup of flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard together and then coat the steak strips generously with this batter. Place the coated strip in the crockpot and then add onion rings and mushrooms in the crockpot and stir together.

Step 3: Add the beef broth and the wine and mix them together. Then cover, and leave it to cook for about 10 hours on low setting.

Step 4: Add sour cream with ¼ cup of flour and stir well in crock pot before serving.

Step 5: You can serve with hot buttered noodles or fluffy rice.

Tips:

If you need a faster cook, you could set the crockpot to high. In this setting, it’ll cook for 4-5 hours to get the steaks to the same level of tenderness.
